FLUID
TRANSFER
This category includes the list of the main fluids that are preferably transferred with screw pumps. These are generally Upstream and Midstream installations for connecting, loading, unloading between extraction points, storage centres, sorting centres, treatment plants and refineries.

Additives

Various additives can be used in Upstream installations to pre-treat newly extracted fluid, so as to facilitate transfer.
They are added, in small percentages, to crude oil or bitumen to reduce the average viscosity and/or neutralise, at least in part, some particularly aggressive chemical components.
Pumping additives generally requires using special materials that come into contact with the fluid (often aggressive) and suitable technical solutions for liquids without lubricating properties (self-lubricating external bearings or with external lubricating systems, timing gears, external lubricating system for the mechanical seal/s)
